Due to Kwik Trip’s continued growth and commitment to True Lean we are adding an additional Full-Time Lean Coordinator. While best known for our product and service offerings to our 8 million retail guests each week throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, a lesser known fact is that beautiful La Crosse, WI is home to our ever expanding 140+ acre support campus.  Our La Crosse Campus includes a wide variety of production facilities, distribution center, truck maintenance facility, transportation/logistics, store construction, fuel trading, sales, and pretty much every support department you can imagine a 30,000 co-worker strong organization would have.


Kwik Trip’s Production Operations department provides support to our Production facilities: Bakery, Bread & Bun, Dairy, and Kitchens. We are currently looking for a Lean Coordinator to serve as our Lean subject matter expert and resource at our Sweets Bakery Facility. This position manages continuous improvement efforts for by leading training, planning, direction, leadership and coordination of manufacturing improvement practices.


Duties include:

  • Kwik Trip Production System (KTPS) Strategy Development
  • Team Development: Act as the change agent, coaching, mentoring and influencing at all levels so as to affect the required KTPS culture.
  • Management Led Practical Problem Solving (PPS): Facilitate the execution of A3s in line with targeted savings for the financial year.
  • Conduct A3 evaluations as needed
  • Set the pace of improvement with the facility Director to deliver timely results and to ensure sustainability
  • Continuous Improvement: Coordinate the site continuous improvement activities using master schedule and 8 Step PPS.
  • Opportunity & Waste Identification.
  • Analysis of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) performance.
  • Coordination of continuous improvement projects across production departments
  • Reporting of continuous improvement accomplishments and participation
  • Confirmation and coaching of Daily Improvement Meeting process
  • Participation in quarterly Lean Maturity Assessments





  • Requires 2 years post high school education with a minimum of one-year similar experience.
  • Lean Knowledge: A deep understanding of the principles and tools of lean manufacturing is key to delivering the requirements of the role.
  • Leadership: The ability to lead through development & education of others is essential.
  • Respected: To be respected and be seen as a credible source of knowledge by facility leadership is essential.
  • Strategy: The ability to align the facility strategy with that of the overall company. The ability to deploy the facility strategy throughout the plant, ensuring that every co-worker knows how they contribute to the plant goals.
  • Challenging: An insatiable appetite for better performance is essential.
  • Knowledge of A3 Problem Solving
  • Knowledge of Managing for Daily Improvement
  • Knowledge of Leader Standard Work
  • Candidate must possess excellent customer service, communication, organizational, training and time management skills.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.


Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday with daytime hours with occasional weekend hours as needed.
