Kwik Trip, Inc.’s Marketing department is seeking an intern to assist the Kwik Trip designers, in translating design requests from cross-functional departments, into brand design strategies that build and grow our Kwik Trip brand.

 

Primary job responsibilities:

  • Learn how brand design is used to achieve marketing objectives through experience assisting with brand design projects including packaging, direct mail, digital, and point-of-sale materials
  • Translate project objectives into effective and on-brand design concepts across media including print, social and packaging, with guidance from the Design team
  • Perform design updates and revisions to existing projects and maintain digital files and assets for Kwik Trip brands with careful attention to detail
  • Handle a variety of design requests coming from within Marketing such as flyers, brochures, signage, and preparing visual assets for the social media team
  • Provide support for the Marketing department to maintain Kwik Trip’s digital assets, organize files, prepare presentation materials, create prototypes and handle a variety of projects

 

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Photography or some related field
  • Understanding of basic design principles, design tools, approaches, and resources
  • Awareness of current design trends and how they fit in the historic context of brand design
  • Knowledge of basic print production processes and how they impact design concept and production
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat and MAC OS software products required to produce deliverables based on technical specifications and a workable knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proven creativity with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability work with minimal supervision
  • Proven Multi-tasking abilities to handle multiple projects with differing timelines and specifications
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and software applications

Self-motivation, careful attention to detail, taking initiative to organize tasks and problem solving with a desire to learn are highly desirable traits. Basic understanding of HTML and photography skills are a plus

 

 Work Schedule: This is a paid internship that will last approximately 6 months.  Hours may vary with work load, but interested students must be willing to work up to 20 hours per week Monday through Friday during the school semesters and potentially up to 40 hours during school breaks.  It is important to note that we offer flexibility with school scheduling.
