Join our team at Kwik Trip Inc. as an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician where you will be responsible for operating, inspecting, troubleshooting, and conducting preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on Kwik Trip’s industrial ammonia refrigeration equipment and facilities.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D, high mechanical aptitude, and 1-3 years similar work experience.  Similar work experience should include operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial ammonia refrigeration systems. Knowledge of reciprocating and screw compressors, condensers, chillers, electrical control circuits, three phase power, PLC’s, and general maintenance practices.  Additional qualifications/requirements include:

  • Knowledge of ammonia systems with the ability to obtain CARO/CIRO certifications
  • Ability to ensure all work is completed to the required specifications and codes or regulations
  • Knowledge of electricity, electrical motors, controls, and wiring to perform trouble shooting and repair duties
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and applicable codes or regulations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Strong interpersonal, organization, and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

Physical requirements:  frequently stand/walk up to 8+ hours; lift up to 75 pounds; bend/squat/twist and stoop/kneel/crouch frequently; grasp/pinch/grip frequently; work in a variety of weather temperatures/conditions. 

Work Schedule:  40-50 hours per week.  Typically Monday through Friday daytime hours; however, you will have on-call responsibilities including evening and weekend shifts as needed, as well as some occasional overnight stays.
