Kwik Trip, Inc.’s Information Technology Department is seeking a full-time Data Engineer. This position is responsible for end-to-end management of the data lifecycle that will help in setting the direction for modeling, building, scaling, governing, and supporting a data management platform.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Research, design, build, optimize and maintain reliable, efficient and accessible data systems, data pipelines, and/or models
  • Collaborate with business owners to optimize data collection, storage and usage to maximize the value of information within supported systems
  • Translate business needs into data architecture solutions, designing and implementing in production environments within supported data systems
  • Implements data orchestration pipelines, data sourcing, cleansing, augmentation and quality control processes within supported data systems
  • Work with Data Governance team to build out and maintain Mastered Domains within supported Master Data system

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study OR equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of building out data stores and data services.
  • Working knowledge of database platforms and management.
  • Knowledge of Informatica, Dataflux, and SSIS ETL tools.
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL query plan, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Knowledge of version control tools and release management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent project and people management skills.         
  • Ability to use complex query statements and advanced database tools   
  • Ability to analyze and develop data requirements and data specifications              
  • Ability to establish and promote technology and data strategy.
  • Knowledge building Informatica MDM is highly desired and the concept of building data domains.

 

Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
