Due to Kwik Trip’s continued growth and success, we are adding a Full-Time Compensation Analyst.  While best known for our product and service offerings to our 8 million retail guests each week throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and continuing to expand into other Midwest states a lesser-known fact is beautiful that La Crosse, WI is home to our ever expanding 140+ acre support campus.  Our La Crosse Campus includes a wide variety of production facilities, distribution center, truck maintenance facility, transportation/logistics, store construction, fuel trading, sales, and pretty much every support department you can imagine a 36,000-coworker strong organization would have.

The selected Compensation Analyst will work as a team to maintain our complex compensation structures, provide analytical support to leaders throughout the organization and ensure that our pay programs attract and retain top talent, as well as support our award-winning culture.


Job Functions:

Work as a team to:

  • Perform job evaluations for new and existing jobs (700+), including FLSA classification
  • Research and analyze market data, salary surveys, and compensation trends to drive creative programs and recommend improvements to existing process
  • Ensure pay practices are internally equitable and externally competitive within our markets and industries
  • Ensure practices are compliant with all federal and state requirements
  • Formulate recommendations regarding development of company salary structure and progress/movement of individual coworkers within their range
  • Review and analysis of pay of pay equity within the organization
  • Proactively complete complicated ad-hoc requests/projects, including researching and analyzing data, organizing data into meaningful presentation materials, draw sound conclusions and make recommendations
  • Support administration of the merit and incentive planning processes, including system testing and audit reviews of employee data
  • Assist with administering SuccessFactors Compensation module to support efficiency and perform analytics to help managers through compensation decisions


  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance or related field and 2+ years’ experience in a Compensation Analysis role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex data and draw conclusions from it
  • High attention to detail, well organized and able to create/maintain effective documentation
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups of coworkers and/or leaders
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Deep understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act and ability to provide guidance to internal customers regarding pay classification
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; advanced Excel skills are a must (VLOOKUP functions, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience working in HRIS systems; SuccessFactors experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills and proven ability to protect confidential information
  • Ability to effectively work as a team member and individual contributor
  • Must live in La Crosse, WI area

Work Schedule:   Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
