Kwik Trip’s Data Governance Office (DGO) has a unique opportunity for an experienced full time Analyst.  In this position you will be responsible for supporting and driving data management and data quality process improvements to the established Data Governance Program under supervision of the Data Governance Supervisor.  Additionally, you will assist with expansion of the program with new initiatives including growing business capability and supporting future data domains.  You will work with our Data Governance Office, IT Data Services team, and data stewardship teams across the enterprise to drive continuous improvement of our data.  You will be responsible for business, data quality, and information projects/processes which will shape the future of the company. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to our DGO, and internal business partners (ie: data stewards, IT team, and any other Kwik Trip teams in collaboration)
  • Accelerating Kwik Trip’s strategic growth by ensuring world-class enterprise data quality
    • Extract and analyze data from various company systems to own & support data cleansing and data management projects (ad hoc & recurring)
    • Identify, draft, and implement new data standards by collaborating with stewards and Data Governance Supervisor
  • Serve as a DGO subject matter expert on enterprise projects supported by Data Governance
    • Identify and understand business/data requirements and process impacts, for continuous lifecycle enhancements to existing master data domains
    • Translate them into technical requirements and software system logic for IT Data Services to interpret appropriately and implement for successful data management changes
  • Maintain Data Governance Office standards, procedures, and policies ensuring all are accurate, appropriate, and current through annual additions and changes
  • Create Data Scorecards and Metrics: create data quality scorecards for master data domains to monitor and track trends of improved data quality per data standards established
  • Assist with documentation of data glossary and master metadata files for Master Data projects
  • Various other tasks as also assigned by the Data Governance Supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
  • Required: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Data Governance or Data Management
  • Required: Knowledge of data management and data quality best practices is required
  • Work extremely well with others to build and leverage diverse relationships to work towards a common goal
  • Strong ability to analyze and manipulate data and determine trends, along with presenting the data in an easy to understand and meaningful way
  • Detail oriented, strategic thinking, organization skills, and a drive for quality and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities
  • Proven track record with data management, and technical project roles; with specific experience understanding business use cases, and translating to technical requirements used for implementing technology solutions or enhancements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to facilitate discussions
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel (including analysis formulas), Outlook, SharePoint & OneDrive
  • Knowledge or experience with ERP and Informatica software preferred

 

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours; weekends as needed.
